Civitanavi Systems S.p.A. is specialized in designing, manufacturing and marketing inertial navigation and stabilization systems for use in the aeronautics and defense sectors, and in the mining and energy industries. Based on optical-fiber gyrometer and microelectromechanical technologies, the group offers inertial systems, heading and attitude systems, inertial units, gyrocompasses, etc., for independent, high-precision inertial navigation; stabilisation; positioning; and precise guidance of missiles, spacecraft, aircraft, ships, submarines, land vehicles and boreholes. Net sales are divided by market as follows:
- aeronautics and defense (81.6%): systems used in ship and submarine (44.3% of net sales), space (35%), aeronautics (14%), and land (9.7%) applications;
- mining, oil and gas industries (16.9%): systems used in applications for long tunneling, horizontal directional drilling, oil and gas drilling, mining, etc.;
- other (1.5%).
At the end of 2023, the group had one production site in Italy.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Italy (12.1%), Europe/Middle East/Africa (75.6%), Asia-Pacific (9.6%) and North America (2.7%).
