Directors (Sindaci) of the Milan Merchandise Exchange (1808-1865)
The decree of 6 February 1808 established that the Exchange sessions were to be presided over by a controller, assisted by four deputies; their appointment was entrusted to the Chamber of Commerce.

Presidents of the Milan Stock Exchange Syndicate (1866-1932)
After the Unification of Italy and the enactment of the Code of Commercial Laws of 1865, a decree of 30/05/1866 formally instituted the Syndicate of Public Intermediaries (Sindacato dei mediatori pubblici) , composed of nine members.

Presidents of the Milan Stockbrokers' Executive Committee (1933-1991)
In 1932, when the Exchange was moved from Palazzo Broggi to Palazzo Mezzanotte, the name of the Syndicate (Sindacato) was changed to the Milan Stockbrokers' Executive Committee (Comitato direttivo degli agenti di cambio della Borsa valori di Milano).

Presidents and CEOs of the Stock Exchange Board (1992-1997)
Starting in 1992, when Law 1/1991 came into effect, the local bodies of the Exchange were dissolved and a Stock Exchange Board (Consiglio di Borsa) was instituted to carry out management tasks during the transition period.

Presidents and CEOs of Borsa Italiana (1998-2010)
After the market was privatised, a management company was formed: Borsa Italiana Spa. Following acquisitions and mergers in subsequent years, Borsa Italiana took the form of a group, until the recent agreement with the London Stock Exchange.
