The History of Borsa Italiana from 2009 to 2018

Borsa Italiana from 2009 to 2018: Market consolidation and development, enhancement of relations between companies and investors and cultural promotion

During the 2009-2018 decade, Borsa Italiana’s activity was chiefly geared towards three focus areas: market consolidation and development, enhancement of relations between market participants and cultural and artistic promotion.

Market consolidation and development

Following up endeavours started in previous years, in the period spanning between 2009 and 2018 Borsa Italiana continued and increased its market consolidation and development efforts, against a particularly complex backdrop that arose from the strong financial crisis of 2007-2008.

Strengthening the link between companies and investors

Over the last ten years, the goal of bringing listed (and unlisted) companies closer to investors and ensuring a stronger direct link between them has gained increasing significance, becoming in fact one of the mainstays underpinning Borsa Italiana’s activities.

Commitment to cultural and artistic endeavours

Keeping a focus on culture and art and promoting and enhancing Italy’s artistic heritage are important and key activities Borsa Italiana engages in, as they represent one of the most innovative and original aspects of the mission pursued by Borsa Italiana during the last decade.
