Selling spree in Milan

EUR / USD continues the session just below the flatline, slipping -0.2%. Gold is in reverse gear, sliding to 2,358.2 dollars per ounce. A day to forget for Light Sweet Crude Oil as it retraces -0.36% to trade at 81.92 dollars per barrel.

The Spread retraces its steps, dipping -1.43% to +138 basis points, while the Italy 10-year BTP yield is at +3.9%.

Among the markets of the Old Continent, Frankfurt makes fairly pedestrian progress (+0.51%), London boasts a +1.51% increase as investors scramble to get their hands on shares, and Paris is stuck at the previous session's levels.

The Milanese stock exchange goes into red amid broad selling pressure, with the FTSE MIB witnessing a -1% decline, interrupting a run of three consecutive rises, which began last Wednesday; similarly, a gloomy day for the FTSE Italia All-Share, which is trading at 35,691 points, down -0.92%.

The FTSE Italia Mid Cap is practically unchanged (-0.1%); the FTSE Italia Star is only just in the black (+0.53%).

Among Italy's best performing large-caps, MPS Bank attracts bids with a +2.62% rise.

Bper is firmly in the black, progressing +2.13%.

Banca Popolare Sondrio performs well, growing +2.09%.

Pirelli & C secures a tidy +1.93% gain.

ERG has the worst performance, with a -0.66% down.

Brunello Cucinelli is sluggish, declining marginally (-0.51%).

MFE B (+3.76%), Juventus (+3.75%), Cembre (+2.63%) and Marr (+2.49%) are among Italy's top mid-cap stocks.

Webuild has the worst performance, with a -2.67% down.

Fincantieri shows a negative session -2.08% down.

Buzzi is modestly down, shedding -1.28%.

El.En drifts -1.12% lower.
