Avio S.p.A. is a leading international group in the manufacture and development of space launchers and solid and liquid propulsion systems for space transportation. The group offers satellite launchers for sending small payloads into low earth orbit, solid, liquid and cryogenic propulsion systems for space launchers and military tactical missiles, and payload adapters for the release of multiple satellites. Avio S.p.A. operates as prime contractor for the Vega and Vega C programs, and as sub-contractor for the Ariane program, both funded by the European Space Agency ("ESA"), allowing Italy to be among the small number of countries in the world capable of producing a complete space launcher.
