US March existing home sales down 4.3% mth/mth

Down 3.7% yr/yr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Washington, 18 Apr - Sales of existing homes in the US fell 4.3% in March from the previous month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.19 million, the National Association of Realtors said.

Expectations were for sales to fall to 4.20 million.

Compared to March 2023, sales were down 3.7% from 4.35 million.

The median existing-home price for all housing types in March was 393,500 dollars, up 4.8% from March 2023.

Total housing inventory at the end of March amounted to 1.11 million units, up 4.7% from February and up 14.4% from one year ago.
