The Italian Equity Roadshow North America starts today

Nov 09 2020 - 10:30

  • Two weeks of virtual meetings between Borsa Italiana’s large-caps and North American institutional investors start today
  • The Italian Equity Roadshow North America is being organised in collaboration with Intermonte SIM and Intesa Sanpaolo IMI Securities Corporation
  • North American investors remain the top foreign institutional investors in Italian companies
  • Throughout 2020 Borsa Italiana’s roadshows have kept dialogue open between Italian listed companies and the most important international investors

From 9 to 20 November 2020, 25 listed companies with a market capitalisation of over 1 billion euros and included in the FTSE MIB and FTSE Italia Mid Cap indices, will be presenting their most recent quarterly results and future strategies in one-to-one meetings or in small virtual groups dedicated to institutional investors in North America.

Patrizia Celia, Head of Large Caps, Investment Vehicles & Market Intelligence at Borsa Italiana:

"Borsa Italiana continues to play a fundamental role, most of all at a complex time such as the present. With its programme of equity roadshows dedicated to the largest listed companies, it has continued to support dialogue with investors across the globe , from Australia to Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North and South America, adapting it to the circumstances, thoroughly and promptly, thus ensuring constant support in an environment of uncertainty. The stop in North America, in particular, is a key opportunity for listed companies to meet American investors, who consistently represent the largest institutional investors in companies listed on Borsa Italiana."

The participating companies have a total capitalisation of 114 billion euros and represent the main sectors of the Italian economy: Consumer Goods & Services, Infrastructure, Industrial Goods and Services, Healthcare and Finance.

The companies that Borsa Italiana will be bringing virtually to North America are: A2A, AMPLIFON, ANIMA HOLDING, AZIMUT HOLDING, BANCA GENERALI, BANCA MEDIOLANUM, BREMBO, CAMPARI, CREDITO EMILIANO, DE' LONGHI, ENAV, FINCANTIERI, FINECOBANK, INTERPUMP GROUP, INTESA SANPAOLO, ITALMOBILIARE, LEONARDO, MEDIOBANCA, RAI WAY, REPLY, SESA, TAMBURI INVESTMENT PARTNERS, TECHNOGYM, UNIPOL and UNIPOLSAI.

Sixty local investors, representing 40 investment firms, will be taking part in the 100 meetings organised with the companies.

US investors remain consistently in first place among institutional investors, accounting for approximately 44% of the share of FTSE MIB securities held by institutional investors.

The Italian Equity Roadshow North America marks the end of the programme of annual roadshows through which, in 2020, Borsa Italiana has contributed significantly to continuing dialogue between major Italian companies and institutional investors, despite the difficult market situation and the complexities created by the pandemic.

Management of relations with global investors has seen Borsa Italiana committed to meetings with the financial community throughout the year, with the physical edition of the Italian Equity Roadshow London in January, followed in February by a series of virtual initiatives such as the Italian Equity Roadshow Asia & Australia in May, Italian Sustainability Week in June, Italian Equity Week in September and the Italian Equity Roadshow North America in November.

Overall, 89 large-cap listed companies representing approximately 80% of the Italian equity market capitalisation and 4 large unlisted companies have benefited from the initiatives, meeting with 750 major domestic and international investors in nearly 3,000 sessions.

The Italian Equity Roadshow North America is being organised in collaboration with Intermonte SIM and Intesa Sanpaolo IMI Securities Corporation.
