Weekly single stock options on IDEM

-       Available as from today on the IDEM market, the Italian derivatives market of Borsa Italiana

-       The new weekly expiry date complement the existing derivatives offering on the IDEM market

-       Weekly stock options are available on Assicurazioni Generali, Enel, Eni, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Intesa Sanpaolo, Telecom Italia and UniCredit shares


As from today 30 October 2014, weekly stock options are available on the IDEM market, the Italian derivatives market of Borsa Italiana.

The new derivatives products will initially be available on the following ordinary shares: Assicurazioni Generali, Enel, Eni, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Intesa Sanpaolo, Telecom Italia and UniCredit.

Thanks to this new derivatives product, investors will be able to take exposure on specific shares with a shorter term horizon, and have further trading and risk management opportunities.

Nicolas Bertrand, Head of Equity and Derivatives Markets at London Stock Exchange Group, said:
“Following the successful introduction of weekly options on the FTSE MIB Index, this new derivatives product is another innovation for the IDEM market. The introduction of new expiries, following institutional and private investors demand and confirms the continued innovation focus of the Italian derivatives market, providing investors with new opportunities”.

Trading and clearing fees on weekly stock options will be waived until March 31st, 2015.

Weekly stock options will be listed every Thursday (with the exception of the third one of each month) and will expire on Friday of the following week. Trading on weekly stock options follows the rules provided for the existing stock options on the IDEM market.
