STAR Conference 2012 in London


Today, Tuesday 2nd October, the twelfth edition of the Star Conference in London starts and it will end on Thursday 4th October.  During the event 67 companies listed on Borsa Italiana STAR segment will meet with more than 40 fund managers and analysts – representing 50 houses of investment - in the headquarter of London Stock Exchange.                                                                           

Today the STAR segment includes 67 listed companies (representing more than 10 typical sectors of “made in Italy). Since the birth of the segment in 2001, FTSE Italia STAR index has always outperformed the general index of the market: (+9.3% ytd, +13.0% since 2011, + 47.5%since 2005, +60.1% since 2003).

Foreign investors in STAR companies capital is 90 per cent of total institutional investors (28,8% North America, 23,8% UK,  1,6% Asia and Oceania, 35% rest of Europe).

To celebrate this edition of STAR conference on Wednsday 3 the opening of the London markets will be dedicated to ELITE companies.

ELITE is a Borsa Italiana project addressed to non-listed SMEs to support their grow. STAR could be a future goal to achieve for them. DBA Group, , Peuterey, Tecnocap and Welcome Italia on behalf of all the thirty Elite Companies will open the London markets in the ceremony that will be conducted by Mr Massimo Tononi, Chairman of Borsa Italiana.
