Rivelazioni - Palazzo Reale e Palazzo Spinola Genova

Thanks to an agreement between Borsa Italiana, Museo di Palazzo Reale and Galleria Nazionale di Palazzo Spinola has been promoted the raising of resources for the restoration of works of art by companies and operators belonging to the national and international financial community, in particular Genoese companies (or in some way linked to the city of Genoa): EdiliziAcrobatica, Ett, Giglio Group, Iren and Tecno.

The Palazzo Reale of Genoa, built between 1643 and 1650, and became the Royal Palace in 1824 when it was purchased by the Savoy, is one of the largest sixteenth-eighteenth-century architectural complexes in Genoa. Among the more than one hundred paintings hanging throughout the palace are works by Genoa’s most talented 17th century painters, plus masterpieces by artists of the calibre of Bassano, Tintoretto, Luca Giordano, Anton van Dyck, Ferdinand Voet and Guercino.

Palazzo Spinola National Gallery, opened in 1958 when Paolo and Franco Spinola donated Pellicceria palace to the Italian State, retains the characteristics of a noble, 17th-18th century Genoese residence: the original furnishings and works of artists such as Joos van Cleve, Anton Van Dyck, Valerio Castello, Giovanni Benedetto Castiglione, called Il Grechetto, Luca Giordano, Bernardo Strozzi, can all still be admired on the two main floors, along with frescoes by Lorenzo De Ferrari, Sebastiano Galeotti and Lazzaro Tavarone.
