Who we are

BPER is the Parent Company of the BPER Group which includes several banks, product factories and ancillary services undertakings. With its almost 23 thousand employees and around 2.000 branches widespread throughout the country serving around 6 million customers. BPER is among the main commercial banks in Italy by number of customers and one of the leaders in wealth management, with over Euro 410 billion of Total Financial Assets managed. It operates in all key market segments, offering qualified services, products, and advisory tailored to every type of financial needs of customers, also with a focus on internationalisation. What we do

BPER has integrated sustainability into its business model through a structured ESG approach with measurable objectives and dedicated governance. The Bank directs products and services toward responsible finance, supporting businesses and households in the energy transition and promoting environmental, social and governance criteria across the value chain. Emission‑ and impact‑measurement systems and climate‑risk policies have been strengthened in line with Supervisory expectations. Despite the closure of the Net‑Zero Banking Alliance’s mandate in 2025, BPER still adopts its climate guidance as a best practice, confirming its 2050 net‑zero commitment and acting as a strategic partner for clients in their ecological transition. The Group also supports people and communities through education, inclusion, welfare, volunteering and local investments.

BPER Banca integrates sustainability as a strategic driver of its Industrial Plan, steering the business model toward responsible, long‑term growth. The Group’s commitment is reflected in the strengthening of internal governance, the progressive reduction of direct and financed emissions, support for clients’ transition pathways, and the development of skills and initiatives capable of generating positive impacts on communities and people. The 2027 targets demonstrate the concreteness of this journey: >€7bn in ESG lending, –35% direct emissions, 45% ESG AuM, €1bn in Green Bonds, ~€20m to local communities, >30% women in leadership positions, and >60% of employees trained annually on ESG topics.
