New thematic ETF by PowerShares

Borsa Italiana welcomes on the Open-end Index Funds - class 2 segment of ETFplus market the "PowerShares Global Agriculture NASDAQ OMX Fund" issued by the SICAV PowerShares Global Funds Ireland Plc. The investment target of  the new ETF  is to mirror the performance its benchmark index, the NASDAQ OMX Global Agriculture Index:

The Index is a modified market-capitalization weighted index designed to track the performance of the largest and most liquid companies engaged in agriculture and farming related activities which are listed on an index-eligible global exchange. To be included in the Index, a security must meet the following criteria:

- the issue of the security must be classified as agriculture and in the Fertilizers & Agriculture Chemicals or Agricultural Products sub-sectors, according to GICS classification;
- the security must be listed on a index-eligible global stock exchange;
- the security must have a minimum float-adjusted worldwide market capitalization of $500 million; and
- the security must have a minimum three-month average daily dollar trading volume of $1 million.
