Milan sinks as Europe drifts lower

News Image (Teleborsa) - A dismal session for the Italian Borsa, amid a Europe-wide downslide, as market sentiment remains negative. The US bourse trades on a sluggish note, with the S&P-500 posting a -0.28% decline.

EUR / USD trades down -0.27% in a weak session. Gold is essentially stable at previous levels, finishing at 3,379.5 dollars per ounce. Crude oil rises in an upbeat session, with Light Sweet Crude Oil gaining as much as +2.39%.

The Spread is up at +91 basis points, an increase of 2 BPs, with the Italy BTP 10Y yield at +3.41%.

Among the markets of the Old Continent, Frankfurt plunges -1.12% on intense selling, London slips just under the flatline with a -0.46% decrease, and investors are selling as Paris records a -0.76% fall.

The Milan bourse ends down, with the FTSE MIB witnessing a -1.36% drop; similarly, it's a gloomy day for the FTSE Italia All-Share, which ends the session at 41,825 points, down -1.29%.

The FTSE Italia Mid Cap eases -0.64%; similarly, the FTSE Italia Star slips a fraction (-0.67%).

Brunello Cucinelli (+2.33%), Saipem (+2.09%), Tenaris (+1.66%) and ENI (+1.13%) among the top performers in Milan.

Unicredit reports the heaviest losses, ending the session -3.62% down.

Amplifon shows a negative session -2.7% down.

Troubled Intesa Sanpaolo falls -2.7%.

Bper is down, with a net loss of 2.08%.

D'Amico (+3.06%), Technoprobe (+1.43%), Rai Way (+1.36%) and Sesa (+0.95%) are among the big players in the FTSE Italia Mid Cap index.

Ariston Holding reports the heaviest losses, ending the session -2.54% down.

Intercos is firmly in the red, showing a fall of 2.37%.

Ascopiave trades negative, losing -2.28%.

Ferragamo plunges -2.26%.
