Sees FY profits at top-end of market expectations (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London, 08 May - The UK pub chain JD Wetherspoon said that in the 13 weeks to April 28 like-for-like sales increased 5.2% year on year.

Year-to-date like-for-like sales rose 8.3%, it added.

Total sales increased 3.3% in the quarter and by 6.5% year to date.

"The company expects profits in the current financial year to be towards the top of market expectations," said the chairman Tim Martin.

The current financial year comprises 52 trading weeks to July 28.
