Move follows Iran's recent drone attack on Israel (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - New York, 18 Apr - The Biden administration is imposing new sanctions and export controls targeting Iran's drone program following Teheran's recent attack on Israel.

"The sanctions target leaders and entities connected to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Iran's Defense Ministry, and the Iranian government's missile and drone program that enabled this brazen assault," President Joe Biden said in a statement.

The sanctions by the Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control target 16 individuals and two entities involved in Tehran's drone production.

Companies involved in the country's steel industry and providing vehicles to Iran's military have also been targeted.
