UK shares end lower amid latest Middle East developments
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 8 mag - Shares in London closed lower as investors reacted to the latest developments in the Middle East after the US conducted strikes on Iranian military targets in response to attacks in the Strait of Hormuz.
The move came as US president Donald Trump warned that the EU could face significantly higher tariffs by July 4 if it does not cut duties on US imports to zero.
Among individual stocks, JD Sports gained 2.85% at 75.08 pence after yesterday's upbeat earnings.
While British Airways-parent IAG lost 2.83% at 385.00 pence after the company cut its profit guidance.
Intertek dropped 2.70% at 4,910.00 pence after the company rejected a third bid from EQT.
The London FTSE 100 closed down 0.43% at 10,233.07 points.
