Spotify shares slide as Q2 outlook falls short

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 28 apr - Spotify shares slid in premarket trade after the streaming company forecast earnings for the second quarter below expectations.

Operating income in the second quarter is expected to be 630 million euros, the company said. Analysts forecast 675 million euros.

In the first three months, operating income rose 40% to reach a record 715 million euros, above analyst expectations of 681.6 million.

The company also said it expected total premium subscribers in the second quarter of 299 million against 293 million in the first.

At 1239 GMT, Spotify shares were down 9.2%.
