Shanghai shares close lower on Iran conflict concerns
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 2 apr - Chinese share prices closed lower following losses across Asian markets as investors reacted to US president Donald Trump's warnings of potential military escalation in Iran.
While he suggested the conflict was nearing its goals, the lack of a clear exit plan left markets uncertain about the duration of the campaign.
Sentiment was further dampened by a more cautious stance from the People's Bank of China, which reduced liquidity support this month as the domestic economy shows signs of recovery.
Losses were led by the semiconductor and tech stocks.
The Shanghai Composite index fell 0.74% to close at 3,919.29.
