Shanghai shares close higher on US-Iran diplomatic hopes
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 14 apr - Chinese share prices closed higher amid signs of diplomatic progress between Washington and Tehran. Markets reacted positively to comments from president Donald Trump regarding a potential deal, while Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian expressed a willingness to resume negotiations, helping to ease regional geopolitical concerns.
On the data front, new customs data showed that China's trade surplus narrowed in March to 51.13 billion dollars from 101.93 billion dollars a year earlier, with imports surging 27.8%.
Gains were led by tech shares.
The Shanghai Composite index rose 0.95% to close at 4,026.63.
