Shanghai shares close higher on US-Iran ceasefire
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 8 apr - Chinese share prices closed higher, tracking a broader rally across Asian markets as investors welcomed the two-week ceasefire agreement between the US, Israel, and Iran.
The de-escalation, centered on the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, triggered a sharp decline in oil and gas prices, easing fears that energy inflation would force central banks to hike interest rates.
Gains were led by tech and semiconductor stocks.
