Shanghai shares close higher ahead of Trump-Xi summit

While enthusiasm for AI and tech stocks showed signs of fading on Wall Street, the Shanghai market followed a positive regional trend seen in Tokyo and Seoul. Gains were capped by persistent worries over the stalemate in the Middle East conflict and its impact on energy costs.
The Shanghai Composite index rose 0.67% to close at 4,242.57.
