(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 21 mag - The Italian energy and infrastructure engineering company Saipem said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Petrobras to begin a technical dialogue on assessing and potentially developing integrated solutions for the decommissioning of oil & gas fields, subsea systems and associated infrastructure in Brazil.

Within the framework of the agreement, Saipem said that it and Petrobras will collaborate in the assessment of potential partnerships with specialized companies and institutions for decommissioning activities, as well as in the development and implementation of new technologies, methodologies and integrated solutions for this specific type of activity.

The agreement has a duration of one year and is not binding, with any future developments subject to specific agreements.
