(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 20 apr - The Italian energy and infrastructure engineering and construction company Saipem said it has been awarded a contract worth about 700 million euros from the Italian energy group Eni for Eni's new Priolo biorefinery in Sicily.

The contract was signed with Eni's Eni Industrial Evolution business. Works on the contract, which includes engineering, procurement and construction activities, are due to be finished by the end of 2028.

Saipem noted that the new Priolo plant will have a capacity of 500,000 tonnes per year, "offering high operational flexbility" to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)-biojet.
