Newcleo to go public in SPAC deal to fund US nuclear expansion
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 27 mag - Nuclear power startup Newcleo said it planned to go public by merging with a blank-check company in a deal valuing it at around 2.4 billion dollars.
The Paris-based company said the operation is intended to accelerate its growth in the US, including leveraging its established European projects as a foundation for execution and deployment. Newcleo, which operates in seven countries, said it planned to merge with New York-based special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC) NewHold Investment Corp III, listed on the Nasdaq.
The deal is expected to close in the second half of the year.
Newcleo has raised around 780 million dollars of private funding since its founding in 2021.
The companies expect gross proceeds of up to 429 million.
