Nestle Q1 sales 21.317 bln Swiss francs, down 5.7%; up organic 3.5%
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 23 apr - Swiss food company Nestle said that in the first quarter sales totaled 21.317 billion francs, down a reported 5.7%, reflecting a 9.3% adverse currency impact.
Organically, sales rose 3.5%, with real internal growth (RIG) of 1.2% and pricing up 2.3%.
The Nespresso brand saw 5.1% organic growth, with RIG of 2.0% and pricing up 3.1%. Waters & Premium Beverages organic sales rose 3.3% with RIG of 0.9% and pricing up 2.4%.
The Americas saw 3.8% organic sales growth with RIG of 1.2% and pricing up 2.6%. Asia, Oceania, and Africa saw 2.4% organic sales growth with RIG of of 1.1% and pricing up 1.3%.
Europe saw 3.9% organic sales growth with RIG of 1.1% and pricing up 2.8%.
Nestle said that the overall impact of infant formula recall was approximately -90 basis point on first quarter organic sales growth and RIG.
The company said that despite the good results it was confirming its full year guidance reflecting increased geopolitical uncertainty and macroeconomic risks. It continues to expect organic sales growth of 3-4% with RIG accelerating versus 2025, driven by the focused growth plans.
The underlying trading operating profit margin expected to improve from 2025, strengthening in the second half of the.
