(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 31 mar - McCormick & Co said its net income in the first quarter was 1.016 billion dollars, or 3.77 dollars per share, compared to 162.3 million, or 0.60 per share, the previous year.

On an adjusted basis, earnings were 0.66 dollars compared to 0.60 the year before. Analysts expected 0.59 dollars a share.

The US maker of spices and seasonings said net sales in the three months ended February 28 were 1.87 billion dollars, up 17% from the same period last year. Analysts expected 1.79 billion dollars.

McCormick confirmed its outlook for net sales to grow 13-17%.
