Lagardere Travel revenue up 18.7% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Paris , 25 Apr - The French media and retailing conglomerate Lagardere said it reported revenue of 1.883 billion euros in the first quarter of 2024, up a reported 12.4% compared to the year earlier and 8.9% higher on a like for like basis.

Lagardere explained that the difference between reported and like-for-like data is attributable to a 60 million euro positive scope effect, mainly due to the acquisition by Lagardere Travel Retail of Tastes on the Fly in the US, Marche International in Germany and Costa Coffee in Poland, as well as a 5 million euro negative currency effect mainly related to the depreciation of the US dollar and Chinese yuan.

Among the group's businesses, revenue at Lagardere Publishing rose by a reported 1.1%, or 0.8% on a like for like basis, to 576 million euros. Lagardere Travel Retail revenue in the quarter stood at 1.242 billion euros, up a reported 18.7% and 13.6% higher on a like for like basis. Revenue from other activities rose by a reported 10.2%, or 0.1%, like for like, to 65 million euros.
