Kuehne+Nagel Q1 net profit 248 mln francs, down 18%

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 24 apr -The Swiss transport and logistics company Kuehne+Nagel said it posted a net profit of 248 million francs in the first quarter of 2026, down by 18% compared to the year earlier.

EBITDA decreased by 10% to 562 million francs, while EBIT slipped 15% to 343 million and recurring EBIT was down 23% at 308 million.

Revenue for the quarter amounted to 5.603 billion francs, down by 12%.

Kuehne+Nagel said that cost-saving measures announced in October 2025 had a material impact on the quarter's earnings, with costs per unit substantially reduced.

'Thanks to disciplined cost management, Kuehne+Nagel made a strong start to the year in Air, Road and Contract Logistics.

Sea Logistics was affected short-term by disruptions in the Middle East," said Stefan Paul, CEO of Kuehne+Nagel International. "We are closely monitoring the situation, particularly with regard to rising energy prices and the possible impact on consumer demand.

As the markets continue to be volatile, our access to a global network and close collaboration with customers enable us to respond swiftly and flexibly to fast-changing conditions. This strength, combined with the current market dynamics and our consistent cost management, gives us confidence for the second quarter of 2026.' In light of first quarter results, Kuehne+Nagel said it now expects recurring 2026 group EBIT in a 1.25-1.40 billion.
