Operating profit increased to 971 million dollars from 863 million while adjusted operating profit slipped to 1.076 billion from 1.091 billion.

Total company sales were 34.6 billion versus 33.9 billion in the second quarter of 2025. Excluding fuel, the sale of the online retailer Vitacost and the exit of certain fulfillment centers, sales inched up by 0.1%. Kroger reaffirmed its full-year adjusted EPS guidance of 5.10-5.30 dollars and lowered its full-year 2026 identical sales without fuel growth guidance to 0.2-0.8% from 1.0-2.0%.
