Italy sells 5 bln eur of bonds in auction

Short-term bond yield rises to 3.42% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milan, 23 Apr - Italy's treasury sold a total of 5 billion euros of bonds in an auction.

In particular, it sold 2.5 billion euros in the fifth tranche of short term bonds maturing January 1, 2026 at a yield of 3.42%, up 0.11 percentage points from the previous auction.

The bid-to-cover ratio was 1.44.

The Treasury also sold 1.25 billion euros in the thirteenth tranche of five-year bonds coming due May 15, 2029 and indexed to the eurozone inflation rate at a yield of 1.35%, down 0.38 percentage points from the previous auction.

The bid-to-cover ratio was 1.35.

Lastly, Italy's Treasury sold 1.25 billion euros in the second tranche of 10-year bonds linked to the eurozone inflation rate and coming due May 15, 2036 at a yield of 1.87%.
