Positive passenger figures (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Rome , 08 May - The Italian state railway FS saw a nearly 20% increase in its first quarter revenue, said CEO Luigi Ferraris.

Ferraris, who was speaking on the sidelines of a conference, added that investments had also grown compared to 2023, which was a record year for investents.

"For the entire quarter, we have positive figures compared to 2023, especially for passengers. A little bit less for cargo due to critical issues tied to border crossings that are closed and due to the fact that Germany is still suffering" when it comes to construction work, he said.
