(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 17 giu - The Italian bank Intesa Sanpaolo expects to hire 13,100 new employees by 2029 should its proposed takeover of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (BMPS) go through, said Intesa chairman Gian Maria Gros-Pietro.

"Since 2021, we have hired 5,250 people, most of them young, and we expect to hire another 6,800 by 2029, which would become 13,100 if the plan to acquire Monte dei Paschi goes through, with all departures being strictly voluntary and without placing a burden on public finances," said.
