Indian shares close lower on geopolitical tensions

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 5 mag - Indian share prices closed lower, retreating as investor confidence was shaken by the latest escalation in the conflict between the US and Iran.

The market's decline, which followed a brief period of optimism, was further compounded by the rupee falling to a record low, prompting a shift toward cautious positioning.

Losses were concentrated in the banking, financial, and metal sectors.
