Sensex down 0.62% at 72,488 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Mumbai, 18 Apr - Indian shares closed lower amid strong Asian markets, dropping for a fourth straight session, with the Sensex and the Nifty indexes further retreating from record highs hit last Wednesday.

In Mumbai stock market dealings consumer durables, healthcare and banking shares again were among the biggest decliners.

The BSE Sensex closed down 0.62% at 72,488 points, while the NSE Nifty closed down 0.69% at 21,995 points.
