Sensex down 0.62% at 72,943 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Mumbai , 16 Apr - Indian shares closed lower amid weak Asian markets, dropping for a third straight session, with the Sensex and the Nifty indexes further retreating from record highs hit last Wednesday.

In Mumbai stock market dealings IT shares again were among the biggest decliners.

The BSE Sensex closed down 0.62% at 72,943 points, while the NSE Nifty closed down 0.56% at 22,147 points.
