Indian shares close higher on easing Middle East tensions

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 6 mag - Indian share prices closed higher following a report indicating that the US and Iran are nearing an agreement to end the Middle East conflict.

The prospect of an agreement triggered a swift decline in crude oil prices, providing a strong tailwind for the domestic market.

Gains were led by the IT, public sector banking, and financial services stocks.

The BSE Sensex climbed 1.22% to close at 77,958.52 points.

while the NSE Nifty gained 1.24% to reach 24,330.95 points.
