India shares close marginally higher despite global market crash

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 18 mag - Indian share prices closed nearly flat, recovering after a sharp morning drop.

Markets fell early in the day because of global worries and high oil prices, which jumped above 110 dollars per barrel after US president Donald Trump issued fresh threats against Iran.

A weak local rupee also added to the pressure.

However, shares managed to bounce back from their lowest points by the end of the day.

The BSE Sensex edged up just 0.10% to close at 75,315.04 points while the NSE Nifty ended 0.03% higher at 23,649.95.
