India shares close lower on oil surge, foreign outflows
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 11 set - Indian share prices closed lower as rising crude oil prices weighed on the country's import bill and inflation outlook.
Higher US Treasury yields and continued selling by foreign investors added further pressure, weakening the rupee.
Metal and realty stocks led the declines, followed by auto, financial services and consumer durables shares.
The BSE Sensex slipped 0.16% to close at 74,781.76 points.
while the NSE Nifty eased 0.34% to reach 23,398.10 points.
