India shares close higher on trade optimism

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 12 nov - Indian share prices closed higher, supported by optimism over India-US trade talks and progress in the US Senate towards ending the record-long government shutdown.

Hopes of Federal Reserve rate cuts next month also supported sentiment, while confidence was further lifted by exit poll results from the Bihar Assembly elections indicating a likely win for the incumbent National Democratic Alliance.

Gains were led by tech and banking stocks.

The BSE Sensex rose 0.70% to close at 84,466.51 points and.

the NSE Nifty gained 0.70% to 25,875.80 points.
