India shares close higher on earnings optimism
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 17 nov - Indian share prices closed higher, supported by an improving earnings outlook.
The mood was also aided by political developments, as the ruling National Democratic Alliance appeared headed for a landslide victory in Bihar, a result seen as strengthening New Delhi's position in trade talks with the US by giving the government more room to consider farm-related concessions sought by American negotiators.
Gains were led by public sector banks and broader financials.
The BSE Sensex rose 0.45% to close at 84,950.95 points, while.
the NSE Nifty gained 0.40% to 26,013.45 points.
