Hong Kong stocks advance as geopolitical tensions ease

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 19 mag - Hong Kong share prices closed higher as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East showed signs of cooling. Sentiment was supported by US president Donald Trump's announcement that a planned military strike on Iran had been called off, a development that helped temper fears regarding potential energy supply disruptions and contributed to lower oil prices.

Gains were led by tech and financial stocks.

The Hang Seng index rose 0.48% to close at 25,797.85 points.
