Hong Kong shares close moderately higher
Hang Seng up 0.48% at 17,284 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Hong Kong, 25 Apr - Hong Kong shares closed higher, further rebounding from a recent selloff and climbing to a five-month high amid strong Asian markets.
The city's stocks bounced back from more than five-week lows hit on Friday on optimism that the appetite for Chinese assets was returning.
Helping support investor sentiment, HSBC said today that its funds have built significant exposure to mainland China equities.
Earlier this week, UBS analysts forecast foreign investors would gradually return to China's market via the Stock Connect and upgraded MSCI China equities to 'overweight'.
Data also showed that mainland investors are also returning to Hong Kong's stock markets as they were net buyers for the 19th straight day via stock connect.
The Hang Seng index closed up 0.48% at 17,284 points.
In Hong Kong stock market dealings technology stocks slid as investors took profits after a four-day rally.
The Hang Seng Tech Index closed own 0.54%.
