Hong Kong shares close lower as oil prices and inflation fears weigh
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 30 apr - Hong Kong share prices closed lower as cautious sentiment prevailed following a steady rise in oil prices. Investor appetite was dampened by escalating Middle East tensions and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, which fueled concerns over global inflation and its impact on economic growth.
Further pressure came from the Federal Reserve's recent focus on inflation risks, leaving markets uneasy despite interest rates remaining unchanged.
Losses were led by the tech and property stocks.
The Hang Seng index fell 1.28% to close at 25,776.53 points.
