Hong Kong shares close lower amid Middle East uncertainty
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 2 apr - Hong Kong share prices closed lower as market sentiment soured over conflicting reports regarding the conflict in the Middle East.
While US president Donald Trump indicated that military operations in Iran could conclude soon, his warning of a potential intensification in the interim left investors on edge. Adding to the volatility, Tehran's firm denial of any ceasefire discussions further heightened caution regarding the geopolitical landscape.
Losses were led by tech and mining stocks.
The Hang Seng index fell 0.70% to close at 25,116.53 points.
