Hong Kong shares close higher; property stocks rally

Hang Seng up 0.75% at 17,369 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Hong Kong , 13 Sep - Hong Kong share prices closed higher for a second day, further rebounding from a recent selloff and leading the gains in the region as they tracked gains on Wall Street overnight.

The Hang Seng index closed up 0.75% at 17,369 points, after falling on Wednesday to a one-moth low on continued concerns over China's economic growth. In Hong Kong stock market dealings financial and real estate stocks led the gains on growing speculation over a potential interest rate cut affecting over 5 trillion US dollars in mortgages, which could boost property stocks.

The Hang Seng Mainland Properties Index rallied 1.19%.

Tech stocks were slightly higher, with the Hang Seng Tech index up 0.13%.

Investors are also closely watching August data and the upcoming Federal Reserve meeting, which could lead to a rate cut.
