Holcim Q1 net sales 3.520 bln Swiss francs, down 4.8%; up organic 3.9%

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 24 apr - Swiss building materials company Holcim said that in the first quarter net sales fell 4.8% to 3.520 billion francs, but were up 3.9% organically, with momentum picking up in March.

Buildings Materials saw organic sales growth of 4.7%, while Building Solutions rose 2.3%.

Recurring EBIT fell 11.2% to 431 million francs, but was up 8.3% organically, with the margin standing at 12.2%, down from 13.1% the previous year, impacted by scope effects.

Holcim said it was targeting benefits of 200 million francs in recurring EBIT from AI by 2028, split between cost avoidance and savings. This will entail growth investments of around 20 million francs per year in the four focus areas of production, logistics, commercial and administration.

Holcim confirmed its full year guidance with growth in line with NextGen Growth 2030 targets of 3-5% organic net sales growth, 8-10% organic recurring EBIT growth and a further rise in the recurring EBIT margin, with free cash flow of.
