European shares slightly higher as investors eye Iran peace proposal

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 27 apr - European share prices traded slightly higher at midday, as investors weighed a new peace proposal from Iran against a backdrop of looming central bank meetings and heavyweight corporate earnings.

Market sentiment remains fragile following the cancellation of the second round of scheduled peace negotiations over the weekend, though reports that Iran has submitted a new proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the war with the US provided a glimmer of optimism.

Investors are bracing for a high-stakes week, with policy decisions due from both the Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank. While interest rates are widely expected to remain unchanged, analysts anticipate the ECB may signal a shift toward future tightening.

At 0942 GMT, London's FTSE 100 was up 0.07% at 10,386.03 points, while in Frankfurt the DAX was up 0.50% at 24,260.57 points and in Paris the CAC 40 rose 0.33% at 8,184.34 points.

Milan's FTSE MIB edged up 0.13% at 47,718.50 points, while in.

Madrid the IBEX 35 gained 0.46% at 17,772.79 points.
