(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 13 mag - In European stock market dealings, shares of European semiconductor companies were mostly higher. Shares of STMicroelectronics gained 9.86% at 52.35 euros in Milan while in Frankfurt shares of German chip maker Infineon Technologies closed 10.70% higher at 64.36 euros. In Amsterdam, ASML Holding and ASM International gained 4.83% at 1,327.00 euros and 4.74% at 874.40 euros, respectively.

In Frankfurt trade, shares of the German chemical and pharmaceutical group Merck KGaA surged 7.21% to 121.15 euros after reporting a solid start to the year and raising its full year guidance on expectations of better than anticipated.
