Eli Lilly lifts FY guidance after Q1 beat

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 30 apr - Eli Lilly lifted its full-year guidance for earnings and revenue after its first quarter results surged past expectations.

The drug maker said its net income in the first quarter was 7.396 billion dollars, or 8.26 dollars per share, compared to 2.759 billion, or 3.06 per share, in the same period a year ago.

On an adjusted basis, earnings in the period rose 156% to 8.55 dollars per share. Analysts expected 6.97 dollars per share.

Revenue in the three months was 19.799 billion dollars from 12.729 billion a year earlier, with growth driven by its GLP-1 drugs Mounjaro and Zepbound. Analysts expected 17.82 billion dollars.

The company lifted its full-year revenue guidance to 82-85 billion dollars from a previous 80-83 billion.

It also lifted its earnings guidance to 35.50-37.00 dollars.
