Confirms FY guidance (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - New York, 02 May - The US energy group ConocoPhillips said that in the first quarter of 2024 it posted earnings of 2.6 billion dollars, or 2.15 dollars per share, compared 2.9 billion, or 2.38 dollars per share a year earlier.

Excluding special items, adjusted earnings were 2.4 billion dollars, or 2.03 dollars per share, compared with 2.9 billion dollars, or 2.38 dollars per share. Delivered total company production totaled 1.902 million barrels of oil equivalent per day.

'We started the year on a strong note, thanks to another quarter of focused execution on our strategic plan,' said Ryan Lance, chairman and CEO. 'We remain constructive on the macro environment and are committed to delivering competitive shareholder returns, including at least 9 billion dollars in planned return of capital for 2024.' Second-quarter production is expected to be 1.91-1.95 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, it said, addt that all full-year guidance items remain unchanged.
